Boston Spanish AcademyOne of the country’s oldest cities, Boston is rich in history, culture and education. The city’s population numbered 575,187 during the 2006 US Census American Community Survey, 85,685 of whom described themselves as being of Latino or Hispanic origin, 65,927 speaking Spanish at home. With more than half a million Hispanic and Latino residents, Massachusetts offers a number of resources and cultural celebrations to aid and honor the Hispanic and Latino culture. LatinBoston.com and Multicultural Boston are two helpful sites that feature Hispanic and Latino special events, fine art, restaurants, media and music. The Boston Children’s Museum also hosts a number of events with the specific aim of teaching children about Spanish language and culture. With such a diverse and growing community base, children in the Boston area could benefit personally, and someday professionally, from learning the Spanish language. What reasons do you have for wanting your children to learn to speak Spanish? Please let us know what you think by completing the form on the right side of the page. |
